Corporate scientific and technological knowledge, as well as negotiation and management skills, can be used to help improve public education, says a report by Boston, Mass.-based FSG Social Impact Advisors.
The report by the nonprofit consultant company encourages corporations to leverage their knowledge and assets to help schools by establishing programs around the already-established curricula of public schools, providing a long-term commitment to education, and measuring progress toward clear, achievable goals. It report provides a framework for the role of corporations in improving public education, and is based on interviews with 25 corporations, private foundations, nonprofit organizations, and school districts.
