The expanding use of artificial intelligence in K-12 education is forcing schools of education to figure out what role, if any, AI should play in teacher education programs. To help address this challenge, the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education released a framework in August calling for university-based teacher education programs to build strategies that prepare teachers to understand both the benefits and drawbacks of AI use in schools.

Join this 30-minute quick hit webinar to explore the use of AI in teacher preparation and continuing education. We will unpack the results of an EdWeek Research Center survey of teacher educators from across the country that examines their views and current practices around AI.

We will tackle critical questions, including:

  • How can teacher education programs show teachers how to use AI ethically in the classroom?
  • Should classroom AI use be restricted to certain grade levels?
  • How can we train teachers on how to use AI to make their jobs easier?
  • What challenges will prospective teachers face in using AI in their future classrooms?
