The report—conducted by the Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy, an arm of the Washington-based National Academies on science, engineering and medicine—concludes that women, even though they are biologically and cognitively capable of competing with men in science and engineering fields and hold advanced degrees, hold very few leadership positions in those fields at academic institutions.
