Wayne Nadeau, a Vermont teacher who resigned from a top leadership post with the National Education Association in 2002 after his sexual liaisons with a teacher’s assistant in his classroom became public knowledge, has agreed to leave his longtime teaching job at Lamoille Union High School in Hyde Park, Vt. Mr. Nadeau will be paid for the remainder of the school year, although he will not be in the classroom. An attempt last winter by the Lamoille North Supervisory Union district to fire Mr. Nadeau failed when an arbiter ruled that it lacked sufficient evidence for a dismissal.
