Sue McAdamis and Cathy Owens have been named the president and the director of learning, respectively, for the National Staff Development Council. The Oxford, Ohio-based association aims to improve education through professional-development programs. Ms. McAdamis was most recently the director of professional development for the 22,000-student Rockwood school district in Eureka, Mo. Ms. Owens was previously the director of professional development and teacher networks for the Arlington, Va.-based National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
