A Web site devoted to “citizen-based” science projects aims to help students study wildlife migration and seasonal change.

Journey North, which is supported by Annenberg Media, uses interactive maps to let students follow the migration patterns of monarch butterflies, whooping cranes, and other animals, and explore the relationship between geography and changes in nature. Students can also report sightings and share observations with other students across North America.
The site’s teaching resources include instructional strategies, standards correlations, and assessment tools, as well as links to lesson plans. Site access and participation are free.
