Kudos for Commentary On Smaller School Units

To the Editor:

Larry Myatt’s Commentary about the cultural shift from the factory-based high school model to one that is relationship-based (“Nine Friction Points in Moving to Smaller School Units,” April 6, 2005) was a brilliant handbook for those wanting to take the plunge.

I have admired Mr. Myatt’s thinking, as well as his work as a mentor to the Annenberg Institute for School Reform and as a pragmatic urban secondary school administrator. He speaks from experience and has the talent and ability to weave theory and practice into a step-by-step ladder of advice. Well done.
