New Visions for Public Schools, the nonprofit organization in New York City that has helped create some 112 small schools in the city since 1993, has received a $20 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation.
The eight-year grant will establish the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Fund for Small School Advancement, which will be used to “strengthen and sustain” the city’s portfolio of small schools, the Radnor, Pa.-based foundation said last month in a news release.
The grant will support strategies focused on high-quality teaching and effective school leadership, as well as efforts to gather and disseminate promising innovations and spread successful examples, the foundation said.
