Milton Goldberg joined the education-policy consulting firm Cross & Joftus LLC last week as a senior associate.

Most recently, Mr. Goldberg was a distinguished senior fellow for the Denver-based Education Commission of the States. But he is probably best known for his role as the executive director of the commission that produced the 1983 report A Nation at Risk.

Cross & Joftus is based in Bethesda, Md.
