Mary Anne Schmitt-Carey has been named the president of Say Yes to Education, a New York City-based nonprofit group that pledges to provide a college education to students who graduate from high school in low-income areas. Ms. Schmitt-Carey, 40, was previously the president and chief executive officer of New American Schools, which is now part of the Washington-based American Institutes for Research.
