Females in Science and Engineering

The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity Education Foundation—a Cochranville, Pa.-based nonprofit organization that promotes equity in the classroom and workplace—has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Arlington, Va.-based National Science Foundation to implement programs that encourage females to pursue degrees in engineering, math, science, and technology. This five-year grant, called the STEM Equity Pipeline project, will be launched in five different states, but project leaders plan to expand it to eight additional states over the course of the grant. Programs will include training education professionals and community and state organizations to create and implement gender-inclusive practices in teaching and curriculum.
