Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire will keep her post, after Judge John E. Bridges of the Chelan County (Wash.) Superior Court dismissed on June 6 state Republicans’ request to hold a new election. Republicans claimed that irregularities in the handling of ballots in King County cast doubt on the Democrat’s 129-vote victory in November over Dino Rossi, who said he would not appeal the decision.
