Florida is placing limits on the high-stakes tests that were first expanded by former Gov. Jeb Bush.
The legislature last week sent Gov. Rick Scott a sweeping bill that caps the time students spend on standardized state tests at no more than 45 hours a year.
The legislation responds to a backlash that has built up in recent years over Florida’s use of testing.
