“Title I Accountability and School Improvement From 2001 to 2004” is posted by SRI International.

Schools in large, urban districts are more likely to be identified as in need of improvement under the No Child Left Behind Act, compared with those in smaller districts, according to a three-year study sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.

The study, conducted by the Menlo Park, Calif.-based research institute SRI International’s Center for Education Policy, examined accountability requirements under the federal Title I program for the school years 2001-02 through 2003-04.
