Eugene W. Hickok recently joined the eight-member policy councilfor Civic Enterprises, a Washington-based firm that advises on public policy.
Mr. Hickok, 55, had been both deputy secretary and undersecretary of education while serving in the U.S. Department of Education from 2001 to 2005.
He will continue to work as the senior policy director at Washington-based Dutko Worldwide, a governmental-affairs strategy and management firm.
