“An Analysis of Florida’s Voluntary Pre-K Program” is posted by the National Center for the Study of Privatization in Education.

Florida’s voluntary public prekindergarten program, which operates much like a school voucher system, is giving parents freedom of choice because they can pick from a variety of early-childhood-education providers, an analysis concludes.

But the program may not be doing much to reduce inequities between children from low-income and middle-class families, according to the examination of the program by Shana Kennedy-Slachow, a researcher at Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York City.
