Day of Remembrance

April 12, 2005 1 min read

Columbine High School will no longer hold classes on April 20, the anniversary of the shootings at the Jefferson County, Colo., school. Students have been excused from classes on that date since the 1999 slayings, but administrators have now decided to permanently make it an in-service day for teachers. More than half the school’s 1,600 students had siblings who attended the school in 1999, according to the district.
