Adrift: Schools in a Total Marketing Environment
Commercialism is now pervasive in schools, a report by the Commercialism in Education Research Unit at Arizona State University, in Tempe, contends.
The report, the 10th in a series of annual reports, is based largely on an analysis of advertising trade publications. It concludes that in schools as well as society at large, advertising is becoming more pervasive, the boundary between advertising and editorial content is becoming less distinct, and the relationship between marketers and consumers is becoming more interactive.
