Sixty-five percent of parents and students surveyed feel high levels of stress about college applications, up 6 percentage points from last year, says a report by the New York City-based Princeton Review.
The report—based on a nationally representative survey of 5,000 students and 1,000 parents—also says that 62 percent of parents estimated that the total cost of their child’s college degree—including tuition, room and board, books, and other expenses—would be more than $100,000. Sixty-four percent said that financial aid would be “extremely” or “very” necessary to pay for college.
