“Impossible Choices: How States are Addressing the Federal Failure to Fully Fund Afterschool Programs” is available from the Afterschool Alliance.

The Washington-based advocacy group claims that a lack of funding from the federal government for after-school programs hinders states from establishing new grants. Funding for after-school programs was promised under the No Child Left Behind Act, but has yet to be allocated by Congress and President Bush, the report says.
