NSBA Award

The Alexandria, Va.-based National School Boards Association has awarded the 2008 Thomas A. Shannon Award for Excellence in School Boards Association Leadership to the Iowa Association of School Boards, a Des Moines-based organization that represents Iowa’s 364 school districts and other educational agencies. The award, named for a previous executive director of the NSBA, recognizes the work done by the IASB Lighthouse Research Team in studying school board leadership behavior and student success.
