Marcia L. Riddick, a 4th grade teacher at the F. Lyman Winship Elementary School here, remembers her initial skepticism about the new assessment tools developed by the nonprofit Boston Plan for Excellence.
“I just heard, ‘another test,’ ” she recalled. “I was thinking, would it be helpful? Was it for us or for the district?”
