Most youths ages 8 to 17 believe that education is a “very important” factor in achieving success, a national survey says.
The nationwide survey, sponsored by the Minneapolis-based Start Something program, a character-education program developed by the Target Corp. and the Tiger Woods Foundation, found that 70 percent of youths believe that having an education is very important in achieving success. Seventy-three percent of girls in that age range think that education is very important to be successful, while 68 percent of boys agree, according to the poll of 1,200 youths.
The survey asked about a number of issues affecting success, such as education, personal discipline, creativity, talent, money, popularity, and intelligence.
