PBS Chief to Step Down
Pat Mitchell, the president and chief executive officer of the Public Broadcasting Service, announced last week that she would not seek another term when her contract expires in June 2006. Ms. Mitchell said her departure had nothing to do with criticism from U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings of an episode of the pbs show “Postcards from Buster” that included two families headed by lesbian couples.
