Fewer teenagers are engaging in sexual intercourse than in past years, concludes a recent survey from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The percentage of girls ages 15 to 17 who had ever engaged in sexual intercourse fell from 38 percent in 1995 to 30 percent in 2002. The percentage of boys in that age group who had had intercourse also fell during the time period, from 43 percent to 31 percent.
