A guidebook is available to help rural educators and policymakers understand the federal No Child Left Behind Act's impact on their schools.

The 335-page compliance manual takes readers through sections of the law and describes its meaning for schools and districts. The book has sections, for example, about testing, rules for English-language learners, adequate yearly progress, teacher quality, school choice, and rural education programs.

Financed partly by a U.S. Department of Education grant, the book was produced by the National Association of State Boards of Education, located in Alexandria, Va., and the American Association of School Administrators, in Arlington, Va.
