Advanced-placement courses. To offer students online access to advanced-placement courses and teacher professional development: $30,000 Glenn Institute’s Civic Action Precollegiate Program at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.

Dropout prevention. To expand the dropout-prevention program at Heberle Elementary School and Washburn Elementary School: $35,000 to the Cincinnati Central Clinic, Cincinnati.

Economics. To establish an economics and government curriculum in four schools in Cincinnati: $50,000 to the Greater Cincinnati Center for Economic Education, Cincinnati.

Financial aid. To help students from low-income families learn financial accountability while attending college: $50,000 to the Cleveland Scholarship Programs and Working for Empowerment Through Community Organizing, Cleveland.

Higher education. To expand services provided to displaced homemakers, single parents, and pregnant women seeking a higher education: $15,000 to the Your Place Program at Southern State Community College, Sardinia, Ohio.

Higher education. To introduce 8th and 9th graders to college life through summer camp: $42,300 to the Access Program at Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio.

Reading. To foster a mentoring program in reading that pairs middle school students with college student mentors: $50,000 to the Village to Child program at Ohio Dominican College, Columbus, Ohio.

School-to-work. To prepare students in the Girard City School District to enter careers when they complete high school: $33,000 to the Futures Prep Program in the Girard City School District, Girard, Ohio.

Special needs. To help students with disabilities make the transition from high school to college or careers: $10,000 to the Career Net Program of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati.

Standards. To add four academic coaches who will help teachers align curriculum to performance standards: $136,800 to the Cincinnati Public Schools. Jessie Ball DuPont Fund. 225 Water St., Suite 1200, Jacksonville, FL 32205-5176
