Teachers in L.A. Approve Three-Year Contract

Rank-and-file members of the union representing Los Angeles teachers have voted overwhelmingly in favor of a three-year contract that will increase salaries 10 percent.

The school board must still approve the pact.

The raises are the first teachers in the nation’s second-largest district have received in eight years.
