As you may have seen over on the Curriculum Matters blog, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced Wednesday it will team up with the Pearson Foundation to create curricula geared toward the common standards for elementary school, middle school, and most of high school.
The announcement shows continued investment into two of the Gates Foundation’s recent popular causes: common standards and online learning. Last spring, it committed $19.5 million toward instructional tools and assessments geared toward the common standards, and its Next Generation Learning Challenges program could ultimately distribute $60-$80 million in tech-related grants before it runs its course.
