Differentiation, a teaching approach that focuses on different instructional needs for each student, has sparked a heated debate in the education community.
Last month, educational consultant Jim Delisle published a piece, “Differentiation Doesn’t Work,” that said the practice had a place in theory, but can’t withstand implementation. In a response, professor Carol Ann Tomlinson, a leading proponent of differentiation, published “Differentation Does, in Fact, Work.” To each piece, readers responded in droves.
