Ala. Governor Signs Charter School Bill

Gov. Robert Bentley, a Republican, last week signed legislation allowing charter schools to open in Alabama.

That action leaves only seven states that do not have laws permitting charter schools.

The state chapter of the Black Alliance for Educational Options has been front and center in the most recent push to establish charter schools in Alabama.
