Columbus schools Superintendent Dan Good said that Ohio law and state school board policy required the district to pay bonuses last week to administrators who have been implicated in the district’s data-rigging scandal.

At least five such administrators received bonuses.

The awards were given for the 2011-12 school year—a period that was never examined for data-scrubbing by the state auditor or the district’s internal auditor, though officials say the numbers were vetted by the education department.
