Johnny Collett, the director of special education outcomes for the Council of Chief State School Officers, has been tapped to be the U.S. assistant secretary of education for special education and rehabilitative services.
Previously, he was the director of learning services and the state director of special education for the Kentucky education department. He’s also been a member of the board of the National Association of State Directors of Special Education. Collett was a high school special education teacher as well.
