The National Academy of Education has tapped 20 young and upcoming education researchers to become postdoctoral fellows.
The fellows, who each receive $55,000 for up to two years, are studying a wide swath of education issues, from early math learning to the effects of “no excuses” charter schools. But English-language learning and second-language development in general seems a hot topic among this year’s fellows, with a quarter of the fellows studying issues directly related to bilingual and ELL education and others studying topics related to Latino education.
The academy also named 25 dissertation fellows, who will each receive $25,000 for up to two years while completing dissertation work.
