Michelle A. Rhee, the controversial former chancellor of the District of Columbia schools, will leave her position as the CEO of StudentsFirst.
At the beginning of this month, Ms. Rhee, the founder of the advocacy group, agreed to become the chairwoman of the St. Hope charter school management organization in Sacramento, Calif., which was founded by her husband, Kevin Johnson, the city’s mayor. Subsequently, the Scotts Miracle-Gro Co., which sells lawn and seed products, announced that she had joined its board of directors under the name Michelle Johnson.
StudentsFirst recently confirmed it was largely shutting down five of its 13 state affiliates.
