The nonprofit education reform group Achieve has named Laura Slover to lead its support for the development and implementation of an assessment system for the 26-state Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, or PARCC consortium, which won a Race to the Top assessment grant. Ms. Slover, who has led Achieve’s work on the common-core standards, has been serving as vice president for content and policy research for Achieve. Replacing her in that role will be Stephen Pruitt, a former chief of staff to the Georgia education commissioner.
