Communities and educators that want to improve student achievement should look closely at increasing the length of the school day or year, a report by the Center for American Progress says.
The Washington-based think tank examined high schools that use additional learning time as one way to raise student achievement. But its report cautions schools to recognize that high school students also need time to pursue work or other interests.
