Paul Dean Woodring, Education Author, Is Dead
Paul Dean Woodring, who wrote several books on education reform, died of leukemia in his Bellingham, Wash., home Nov. 12. He was 87.
Mr. Woodring retired from the faculty of Western Washington University in 1986. The university named its Woodring College of Education in his honor.
Among the books he wrote were Let’s Talk Sense About Our Schools (1953) and The Higher Learning in America: A Reassessment (1968).
Mr. Woodring was a native of Delta, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and Ohio State University.
