From the start of 2014 through the middle of October, Education Week published more than 120 COMMENTARIES either in print or online. 10 of those focused on the Common Core State Standards.

On average, Commentaries about the standards generated roughly 3 TIMES as many online comments as did other Commentaries.

• COMMON-CORE RESPONSES (22)
• NON-COMMON CORE (6.6)

A breakdown of the more than 200 COMMENTS on the common-core essays revealed MORE NEGATIVE THAN POSITIVE REACTIONS.

• PRO: 51 comments
• ANTI: 78 comments
• NEUTRAL: 90 comments (Includes reader-to-reader conversations.)

The word cloud below synthesizes a 20,000-word compilation of reader opinions on standards-related Commentaries.*
