Civics and social studies teachers can find specially selected video clips on current events and politics through C-SPAN Classroom, a Web site recently upgraded by the public affairs cable network.
The site collects short clips from C-SPAN’s coverage into six topical areas—principals of government, U.S. constitution, legislative branch, executive branch, judicial branch, and political participation. The clips are accompanied by discussion questions, worksheets, and primary resources, and linked to national and state standards. Users are also able to rank and comment on the clips.

The site, which was designed with the help of teacher-fellows this past summer, is geared toward middle and high school U.S. government and civics classes. Access to the clips and a searchable archive is free to registered users, and all clips have been copyright-cleared for classroom use.
