“Every Child Deserves Our Best” is available from the North Carolina Association of Educators.

Recommendations for attracting and retaining skilled teachers are included in a report produced by three teaching organizations.

In order to sustain quality teaching, the report says, schools should provide high-quality professional-development programs, a variety of curriculum resources, administrators who are trained in school improvement and support teacher leadership, and opportunities for teachers to collaborate on successful teaching practices and student data.

The report was produced by the Raleigh-based North Carolina Association of Educators, the Washington-based National Education Association, and the Chapel Hill, N.C.-based Center for Teaching Quality.
