Jonathan Brice has been named a deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Education’s office of elementary and secondary education. Mr. Brice had been an administrator for the Baltimore school district since 2008. He was selected earlier this year by Education Week as a Leader To Learn From for his leadership in reforming the district’s approach to student discipline, which resulted in a reduction in out-of-school suspensions.
