All schools in the 32,000-student Minneapolis school district were on lockdown as a precautionary measure for two days last week following a threat that someone would shoot at an unspecified school in the city and then shoot himself. The purported gunman did not specify which of the city’s 60 schools would be the target the reason the district placed all schools on lockdown. Police and FBI officials believe the threat was posted on social-networking sites by an Australian teenager with no connection to the Twin Cities.
