SENATE

S 2002--Bilingual education. A bill to assure that bilingual-education programs include effective instruction in English and, in most cases, are limited to one year. By Senator Huddleston (R-Ky.) and one other.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

HR 5146--Tax credits. A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 to extend job tax-credits to employers of 14- and 15-year-olds under the Work-Experience, Career-Exploration Program (wecep) and to delete the requirement that tax credits be given only to employers who hire disadvantaged youths under the Cooperative Education Program. By Representative Erdahl (R-Minn.).

HR 5221--Tax credits. A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 to provide a tax credit for tuition and fees for elementary and secondary education. By Representative Donnelly (D-Mass.).

HR 5225--Recordkeeping. A bill to amend the General Education Provisions Act to shorten the time that recipients of funds under federal education programs must retain records. By Representative Jeffries (R-Kan.).

HR 5291--Missing children. A bill to amend title 28 of the U.S. Code to authorize the Attorney General to help officials identify deceased persons and locate missing children. By Representative Heckler (R-Mass.).
