Parenting the Middle School Child, an outreach program from Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland, is the recipient of the National Council for Continuing Education and Training’s Exemplary Program Award.
The community college received the award for reaching out to local public schools and offering a 10-hour course free to middle school parents. The course gives parents information about adolescent development, teen substance abuse, sexuality, popular teen culture, and strategies for successful communication.
