Melissa E. Bartlett has been named the director of the Center for 21st Century Skills, a Raleigh, N.C.-based organization established by North Carolina Gov. Michael F. Easley last year to encourage students to learn skills needed to succeed in the global economy. Ms. Bartlett, 48, is currently an instructor at Mitchell Community College in Statesville, N.C.
