Johnathan Williams has been elected the chairman of the board of the Washington-based National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
Mr. Williams is the founder and co-director of the Accelerated School, a public-private partnership of charter schools in Los Angeles.
Charter schools are publicly funded but largely independent.
