Technology Grants
The Motorola Foundation, the charitable arm of Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola, has awarded $3.5 million in educational technology grants to 106 nonprofits and institutions across the nation with the 2007 Innovation Generation Grants. The grants are given to programs that encourage girls and minorities to become more invested in science, technology, engineering, and math. The foundation said the most notable organizations to receive grants included Global Kids, Inc., New York City; Half Moon Bay High School, Half Moon Bay, Calif.; The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, New York City; The Marine Science Institute, Redwood City, Calif.; The National Society of Black Engineers, Alexandria, Va.; and Working in the Schools, Chicago.
