Gordon L. Berlin recently became the president of the New York City-based mdrc, a nonprofit social-policy research firm.
Mr. Berlin, 53, began serving as mdrc’s executive vice president earlier this year in preparation for succeeding Judith M. Gueron, who had been the president of the organization, formerly known as the Manpower Demonstration Research Corp., since 1986.
Previously, Mr. Berlin oversaw mdrc’s efforts to identify cost-effective public policies that could meet the needs of low-income families.
