Dale Scheideman

Dale Scheideman, the director of the new-school and facility-planning department for the Clark County, Nev., school district for the past 13 years, died Feb. 8. He was 72 and had suffered a heart attack.

Mr. Scheideman led three successful school construction bond programs valued at more than $5 billion in the 290,000-student district. The programs will provide money for more than 132 new schools and the modernization or replacement of 180 other schools by 2008.

An architect, Mr. Scheideman was the chairman of the foundation of the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Council of Educational Facility Planners International.
